History of the establishment of the 66th comprehensive school in the city of Samarkand
In 1930-1932, a rich man named Jurabekboy lived in the Khazora neighborhood of Samarkand. Because of immigration to Afghanistan in 1938, his yard was confiscated by the State and the yard was put into operation as a 4-year school. During the war, neighborhood children, as well as other orphans, were educated at the school.
Gani Rakhimov was the first school director during 4 years of schooling. A few years later, it became a 7-year school. During this period, Valentina Nikolaevna Burnasheva headed the school.
In the 1960s,it became a 8-year school No. 61 named after Oybek in Samarkand district. As the number of students in the school increased, there was the need for an additional building in school. Additional classrooms are provided by parents and sponsors.
In 1988, the school became the 66th secondary school named after Oybek in Samarkand. The school was headed by Norchuchuk Sultanova after Saida Rizayeva.
In 1994, the school was temporarily relocated from the old building to the kindergarten building in the Khazora neighborhood. After the renovation program was carried out in 2005, a new modern school building was built in 2006.
