A history of school
22nd comprehensive school in the city of Samarkand was founded in 1936 on the basis of 8 and 16 schools. Its capacity is suited for 560 students. In the 1936-1937 academic year, the school consisted of 1 two-storey building with 13 classrooms.Due to the growing interest of students in school N8 ,located in the building of the orphanage No.7 in Samarkand ,there was a shortage of classsrooms. Giyosov Nurmukhamad Kobilovich, a young teacher, get permission to build a new school. Building a new school was difficult. Giyosov himself was an active supporter of the construction work. Finally, a new 2-story school building was erected. Giyosov Nurmukhamad Kobilovich was appointed to the director of the new school. In the 1936-37 academic year, there were 18 teachers, including: E. Shodizoda, N.F. Taranenko, M.N. Pulatova, K. Alimov and others. Teacher M.N. Pulatova's impression of the school's opening day is as follows: “On September 1, despite the smell of paint in the classrooms, we decided to start classes. The weather was nice, we put the desks under the apricot trees and taught the students. ” On September 1, 1936, the school had 426 students in 13 classes. On September 1, 1941, the school building was turned into a military hospital, where soldiers who had been wounded in the war and evacuated to Samarkand were housed. Students in grades 1-4 were transferred to School 3, and students in grades 5-10 were transferred to Schools 8 and 28. In 1943, schooling resumed. Thanks to the productive work of the following enthusiastic teachers of the school: M. Narzikulov, A. Salakhitdinov, A. Saidov, A. Mukhamedjanov, M. Nagorev, A. Alimov, Kulizoda Ishankul, A. Shakhidi and others, because of them this school is considered as one of the most prestigious educational establishments in the city.
